Dearest friends,

I hope and pray that you are safe after Storm Amy. As I write this message the sun is shining but the wind is still brisk.

Thank you to those people who have looked after the parish and covered services while I have been away.  During my 2 weeks away autumn has definitely arrived!

I am sure you have heard that the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury has been announced, the current Bishop of London the Rt Revd Dame Sarah Mullally will take up the post in January.  We pray for her and our own Bishop Tricia she resumes her duties after compassionate leave.

This Sunday marks the beginning of our parish harvest festivals, these kick off with a service tomorrow evening at St Luke’s Church followed on Monday evening by a concert, supper and auction of produce.  Full detail of this event and other services are on the sheet.  Donations of food items would be warmly welcomed, fresh produce will be offered for sale to congregations and non-perishable items donated to the IOM Foodbank.

I wish you a blessed week ahead,

Canon Janice
