The Light Before Christmas: Silent Night (Christ the Saviour is Born)

On Christmas Day 1914, fighting ceased in the trenches of World War I and soldiers from both sides sang the well-known carol, ‘Silent Night’, across No Man’s Land. Some soldiers from the British and German armies even joined together to play football.

This weekend sees the release of Paul Potts’ charity single Silent Night (Christ the Saviour is Born) on Sunday 7th December. It can be pre-ordered on itunes by clicking here. Profits will be split between Tearfund’s Syria Appeal and the Royal British Legion.
