Dear friends in Christ,
The long prayed for rain has arrived though more is needed to make up the ‘normal’ water table levels and refill the reservoirs. Please continue to use water responsibly and remember in your prayers the many parts of the world suffering from extreme drought.
The holiday season is not yet over and we welcome visitors to the island. Many will be coming for the racing over the next 10 days.
Just in case you haven’t seen the road closure schedule here below is a summary;
Manx Grand Prix (MGP) – starting at 12.45pm Sunday 21st August and until Monday 29 Aug there will be road closures for the races as follows;
Sunday 21st August roads close 12.45pm and are open again at 6pm.
From Monday 22nd August, for four evenings, they’re closed from 6pm until 9pm.
Next Friday (26th Aug) is the first race day with roads closed from 12.30pm until 4.30pm.
The following day (Sat 27 Aug) the roads are closed from 11am until 9pm.
The final race day is Monday 29 Aug when roads are closed from 9.30am until 9pm.
If practices are delayed or cancelled, an additional session will be held next Sunday at 12.45 – 6pm.
We pray for safety and enjoyment during the practice and race periods. Marown Church will be offering hospitality during those times.
Have a blessed week whatever you are doing,
Best wishes
Canon Janice
